This EISCAT campaign will support the Vorticity Experiment 2 (VortEx2) rocket campaign designed to study mesoscale structures in the wind field in the lower thermosphere (90-130 km). VortEx2 will be launched from Andoya, Norway: in situ measurements of neutral density, temperature, ion and electron parameters and electric fields will be made. Winds in the lower thermosphere and electic field will be derived from the EISCAT observations of the vector ion drift. This EISCAT campaign will be made using EISCAT PP (25 hrs). The scan mode is the same to that used by VortEx campaign held in March 2023.
