It can happen that you observe some discrepances between what you see on the portal webpage and what you think you should have access to. Sometimes this can be because of still active old EGI session cookie. The first troublshooting is to either clean cookies from your browser, restart your browser completly or use the incognito tab to check out with EGI check-in again. These actions force EGI check-in service to re-check with the virtual organisation. EGI cookies are persistent for the length of the session (as defined by your browser of the choice which can be anywhere from few hours to until the browser is restarted.) These cookies are also reason we strongly recommend if you are using our webpage on a public computer to completly close the browser or delete the cookies after you are finished.

The portal page is still worked on. Features will be added over time and we will try to inform about them in this space. Eventually a better help page will be also created. Thank you for your patience.

(2025/05/13) Update information:

  • There were many adjustments made for the "right of access to the data" check in connection with the data being coupled with the requests. This was done to better allign with the current Blue Book rules of acccess and to ensure data embargo rules for present system Level 2 data. Please inform us about any discrepances in your access/download rights that you will observe when trying to download your data at portal-support(at)eiscat.se

(2025/02/13) Update information:

  • There were several adjustments made to the display of data in the schedule and data overview page and for data download. in connection with getting ready to couple the data to the campaign requests.
  • Link to existing level 3 data in the Madrigal database was added to each day on the display (not to individual experiments).

(2025/01/21) Update information:
Relevant to those who submit campaign requests. Now an edit feature was introduced and you are able to update some of the information submited in your request. The following functionalities should be available:

  • Submitter can edit requests which were submitted by his/hers EGI identitification until 1 hour before the run of last experiment on the campaign request.
  • Submitter can edit only contact name, contact email, contact phone; Short description and Notes from the common part of the campaing request.
  • The experiment information (experiment name antenna mode and details) can be edited until 24hours before the run of relevant experiment.
  • The experiment can be also marked as cancelled until 24h before the start as per EISCAT cancelation policy.
  • Already scheduled experiments cannot be deleted and the date time and run period cannot be any more edited. For changes other than cancelation EISCAT has to be contacted.
  • Experiments on the list that are in status requested can be deleted and their date time and run period can be edited to the dates that the date picker allows (i.e it undergoes the same rules as when submitting new request)
  • Until 1h before the run of the last experiment in the campaign another experiment for the same campaign can be requested but again the request undergoes the same rules as when submitting new request (so only from the month that is not scheduled yet).
For any other changes to the campaign request please contact EISCAT directly.

(2025/01/20) Update information:
Relevant to those who submit campaign requests. Campaign submission information:

  • In frame of one campaign request you can submit any number of experiments you see fit for your request. It would be desirable if they create a logical unit. Please help us also choose befiting keywords. In the future we are planing to implement Data Search function which should enable keyword search and Campaign name search too. Campaign names do not have to be unique but later such campaigns will be searchable together so it would be desirable if you are able to use given campaign name for related requests (e.g. requests in various years but related to the same observation idea).
  • You are also allowed to indicate several sources of time for your request. You cannot indicate more time in sources than you request in experiment but you can request more hours than what you indicate in the sources. This is to ensure for a stand-by rocket campaigns posibilities. Please do not forget to indicate in notes in case you are expecting the rest of the campaign to be canceled in such cases. Be aware that scheduling representatives of the groups which you will indicate in your request will be automatically informed of the submission. Please agree on time-sharing beforehand.
  • You have to choose instrument first. Instrument field cannot be edited to change the instrument please use appropriate button and fill the fields in again.
  • In the Experiments part, maximum period possible to request is 24 hours. For longer experiments please submit one row for each 24hours you are requesting.
