Notes
Field-aligned Heating/UHF experiment to measure thermospheric neutral density. The Super- Heater will create ionisation. When the pump is switched off, the recovery depends on neutral density and composition. The UHF will observe the Heater-induced ion-line overshoot, the altitude of which indicates the level of ionisation with pump on and the rate of recombination with pump off. The ionospheric plasma frequency must be above 5.423 MHz (Super-Heater). The ionosphere must be stable with low absorption. Experiment cancellations are expected.
