Responsible experimenter for Svalbard radar:
Resources: NO(2) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
This experiment will form part of the field work for two UNIS courses: AGF210 - The Middle Polar Atmosphere AGF223 - Upper Atmospheric and Space Physics: Observational techniques and Instrumentation The students will be introduced to the concept of incoherent scatter in a series of lectures to be conducted before the trip to the radar site. At the site the students will learn about the radar operations and experiment types. The students will be responsible for running the radar, under supervision. The students will also use the GUISDAP analysis software onsite to analyse and discuss their data within the groups. We envisage using either folke or ipy in either a field aligned or low elevation position (if the 32m is available).
