Responsible experimenter for UHF radar:
Resources: UK(60) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
VHF: beata vertical UHF: beata azimuth 344 elevation 35 Sampling of the auroral zone whilst Cluster traverses the auroral acceleration region (AAR) conjugate to EISCAT. Standard experiment codes with good F-region resolution will be employed (e.g. steffe on ESR and tau8 on mainland) The VHF will be pointed northward at low elevation (potentially skewed northwest if possible) The UHF will be field-aligned to provide altitude profiles. The ESR 42m dish will operate field aligned If the 32m dish becomes operational in this interval it should be pointed southward at low elevation. The UK has enough hours to cover 5 predicted conjunctions and will be requesting support from other associates (e.g. Sweden and Norway) to cover an additional two. The UK has supported 40 hours for the mainland radars and 20 hours for the ESR, however the ESR time will be covered by Sweden and Norway (exact numbers to be confirmed).
