Responsible experimenter for UHF radar:
Resources: UK(6) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
VHF: runexp manda/manda 9:0 zenith UK UHF: runexp manda/manda 9:0 uk/magpie UK ESR: runexp manda/manda 9:0 fixed NO The primary objective of the experiment is to determine if there is an enhancement in Polar Mesospheric Summer Echo (PMSE) echo strength in the direction of the magnetic field. The secondary objective is to investigate the angular dependence or aspect sensitivity with the same dataset, taking advantage of the measurements we will make at different tilt angles. Finally, as a third objective, PMSE spectral characteristics will be studied by combining the ESR, VHF and UHF measurements. Observation routine proposed: UHF radar pointed vertically for 10 mins, tilted along mangetic field line direction (approx. 12.5 degree zenith angle to the South) for 10 minutes, tilted at 25 degree zenith angle for 10 minutes and repeat in the same order for 6 hours with Manda pulse code.
