Responsible experimenter for UHF radar:
Resources: FI(6) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
This experiment (field-aligned, beata) is part of a package covering 5 nights in the 1-6 March period with Tromsø UHF and ESR observations. In particular, it combines with NO hours on 5-6 March with TRO (PI: N. Partamies), as well as ESR hours on 1-4 March for AGF-304 (PI: L. Baddeley). The science motivation is to quantify the energy input associated with particle precipitation during substorm phases comparing high-latitude substorms and auroral-latitude ones. We aim to apply the ELSPEC method to retrieve the precipitating electron fluxes along the field lines above the radars and make use of optical observations to determine what auroral forms were within the radar beams during the measurements. Responsible scientists will be available online (not at the site) during the experiment, if needed.
