Responsible experimenter for UHF radar:
Resources: UK(24) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
Additional Contact: Sophie Maguire (sjm241@student.bham.ac.uk) The purpose of this experiment is to test and refine an observing mode on the ESR to enable complementary observations for E3D. E3D will have a number of operation modes. Some of these include beams forming a grid where each beam has a high temporal resolution and, collectively, the beams provide high spatial resolution. Some discussion is required for the optimal code for the VHF and UHF (since this was originally planned for the ESR). Originally it was intended to try this on the ESR, however with the 32m dish broken we are attempting it on the combined UHF and VHF systems. The VHF will operate vertically The UHF will perform a scan of 6 points forming a hexagon at a fixed elevation of 60 degrees. The scan should advance clockwise in azimuth in 60 degree steps. Discussion is required with EISCAT staff to make this scan pattern and to ensure it works runexp beata/beata 6:0 uk/ed3p UK
