Notes
VHF: runexp /kst/exp/othia/othia 0:0 zenith ESR: runexp /kst/exp/ipy/ipy 0:0 fixed42m (1) To measure severe geospace storm induced global upper atmospheric disturbances that have potential space weather impacts; and to advance the understanding of the fundamental magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere coupling processes. (2) The proposed observation is part of the yearly ISR world-day series for collecting a long-term geospace storm database that will benefit the general space science and space weather communities for various storm studies. (3) The proposed observation is a key component of an international campaign that aims at monitoring and investigating geospace disturbances and their space weather effects, particularly along the Meridian Circle of 60W/120E longitudes. This international collaboration features predominately ground-based arrays of radio, optical, and other techniques measuring various parts of the geospace system. ISR observations, even not all radars being exactly along the Circle, will be important for providing an important global context.
