Responsible experimenter for VHF radar:
Resources: NI(14) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
We will run the EISCAT VHF radar with all-sky cameras in Tromsoe and MST radars in northern Scandinavia. Clear sky is desired, but not mandatory because the objective of this experiment is archived only by the radio observations (EISCAT and MST radars). Based on the simultaneous data, we investigate the relationship between 1) low-altitude ionization (EISCAT), 2) occurrence of pulsating aurora (all- sky cameras), and 3) Polar Mesosphere Winter Echoes (MST radars). We book 6 nights, but if the conditions are not good during the UHF AA intervals in January we may cancel the operation and use the machine time in the later booked periods in February. We would like to ask EISCAT staff to operate this experiment.
