Responsible experimenter for HF heating/radar:
Resources: NO(20) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
EISCAT Heating will operate in a frequency-sweep mode such that the pump-frequency passes through the 3rd (or 4th) double-resonance frequency resulting in a varying F-region response. The UHF-radar has to be operating simultaneously to observe the ionospheric response in magnetic zenith. Since this is an active ionospheric modification experiment aimed at studying the frequency-dependency of daytime F-region responses experiment runs will be cancelled for conditions with too high D-region absorption or too low F-region electron density. From experience during solar minimum conditions approximately 50% of the scheduled time ends up with poor conditions.
