Notes	Scientific Objectives: • To investigate the generation and transport processes of orthohelium in the upper thermosphere and exosphere within the polar cusp region. • To examine the relationship between the orthohelium airglow brightness (integrated over altitudes from 300 km to 1000 km) and the ion/electron temperatures above 300 km. • To evaluate the contribution and significance of particle precipitation (electrons, He+, and He++) to the orthohelium airglow brightness. Technical Description of the Experiment: - Field-aligned 42-m anntenna only – no scanning - Ti and Te measurements above 300 km - Ne measurements above 200 km, but not strongly required - with beata code on the first day (Jan. 20), and tau7 code on the second day (Jan. 21) Geophysical Conditions Required: Clear skies with aurora preferred. Strongly active conditions are not required, and sub- visual aurora is acceptable. Related Experiments: Optical measurements using the NIRAS-2 spectrograph and the NIRAC camera operated by NIPR at KHO.
