Description:	Precipitation and Ion-Neutral Coupling Experiment with Radar and Spectrographs
Notes	These February requests are a backup in case the radar is not operational in the January new moon period. If the January runs go ahead, then we will cancel these February runs. Note this is a joint experiment - resources are NI(15)+NO(10)+UK(15). Takanori Nishiyama (NIPR), Noora Partamies (UNIS), Daniel Whiter (Southampton). Field-aligned, likely ipy, fixed42m. The radar will be run in coordination with spectrographic measurements from KHO. Objectives: - To investigate the response of the neutral temperature in the upper atmosphere to different auroral energy inputs and processes, and - to compare neutral temperature changes with radar measured ion and electron temperatures in order to understand the heating of the upper atmosphere better. - To investigate the electrodynamics associated with dynamic small-structure structure in the aurora, in particular the rapidly changing electric field. - To understand the role of energetic particle precipitation on the OH airglow layer and temperature measurements in the mesopause region.
