Description:	Experiment in support of the LEXI mission
Notes	This is an EISCAT experiment in support of the LEXI (Lunar Environment Heliospheric X-ray Imager) mission. LEXI will take global images of the interaction of the solar wind and the Earth’s magnetic field (including the Earth’s magnetic cusps), see more information here: https://sites.bu.edu/lexi/ LEXI was launched into space on 15 January 2025, and it is now underway to the Moon onboard the NASA Blue Ghost Mission 1: https://fireflyspace.com/missions/blue-ghost-mission-1/ It will land in the Mare Crisium area on the Moon in the beginning of March 2025, from where it will capture global images in soft X-ray of charge exchange between solar wind ions around the Earth (including the Earth’s cusps). LEXI is expected to make observations sometime between 04 March 2025 at 19:00 UTC until 09 March 2025 at 01:41 UTC. We will target the beginning of this interval, and especially the hours when the EISCAT Svalbard Radar is under the dayside magnetosphere and the northern cusp. We will use both the 42 m dish in the field-aligned direction, and the 32 m dish at low elevation north (along the magnetic meridian).
