Description:	Precipitation and Ion-Neutral Coupling Experiment with Radar and Spectrographs
Notes	Note this is a joint experiment - resources are NI(15)+NO(10)+UK(15). Takanori Nishiyama (NIPR), Noora Partamies (UNIS), Daniel Whiter (Southampton). Field-aligned, likely ipy, fixed42m. The radar will be run in coordination with spectrographic measurements from KHO. In case the radar is not operational, we would most likely request to move the experiment to the February new moon period, but January is preferred for optics. Objectives: - To investigate the response of the neutral temperature in the upper atmosphere to different auroral energy inputs and processes, and - to compare neutral temperature changes with radar measured ion and electron temperatures in order to understand the heating of the upper atmosphere better. - To investigate the electrodynamics associated with dynamic small-structure structure in the aurora, in particular the rapidly changing electric field. - To understand the role of energetic particle precipitation on the OH airglow layer and temperature measurements in the mesopause region. ; Note this is a joint experiment - resources are JP(15)+NO(10)+UK(15).
