Responsible experimenter for VHF radar:
Resources: UK(24),SW(8),NO(8) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
To make simultaneous observations of the northern hemisphere cusp whilst the Cluster satellites make longitudinally-extended observations of the same cusp at higher altitudes. This will allow the size, shape and physical processes occuring within the cusp to be examined, in order to develop a more three dimensional picture of this important region which is crucial to the global-scale dynamics of the magnetosphere. VHF = poleward at low elevation UHF = field aligned 32m ESR = poleward at low elevation 42m = field aligned This is a joint experiment with time from the UK, Sweden and Norway contributing Mainland: UK(24) SW(8) NO(8) ESR: UK(12)SW(8)
