Resources: NI(13) [format: <Associate code>(<hours>), eg EI(50)]
Notes
We will run the EISCAT VHF radar with the remote antennas (i.e. the tristatic measurements) together with the sodium LIDAR and the 5-wavelenght photometer: VHF is pointed vertically, sodium LIDAR makes 5 directional observations including the vertical direction, and the photometer makes field-aligned measurements of auroral emissions at 5 wavelengths. We will try to investigate possible relationship between occurrence and strength of the vertical wind, auroral activity levels, and E-field (Joule heating) strength/direction. Clear sky and high auroral activity are really desired. One of 3 nights would be cancelled.
